OUR STORY
It all started in 1998, when I started Tsahara Productions. From the beginning I aimed high, I chose only to work with bands that I personally liked artistically, meaning: if I like the music, I can book them!
One of the first acts we booked was Daniel Romeo Band, later this year we added Erik Truffaz (for Benelux) who was not known at that time, Zuco 103 was shortly added. We organized our first European tour for acid jazz Ronny Jordan and ended up with more than 20 shows in Europe, than we booked some dates for Roy Ayers (Printemps de Bourges, Cully Jazz...), who had not performed for a decade in Europe. Than I met Juan Y Ryart who became my mentor and a good friend. Juan had been in the business for ages and worked with Nina Simone and a lot of well established artists. Juan have me the opportunity to work with Mory Kante as exclusive artist for Benelux (we booked Mory until he sadly passed away in 2020). Juan introduced me to many important promoters and fellow agents. We than became the European agent for Brooklyn Funk Essentials, who helped us a lot to build out our agency internationally. A lot of international artists joined our roster since. Here are some bands we booked since we started the agency: Tania Maria, Defunkt, Incognito, Manu Dibango, Percy sledge, Desmond Dekker, Dionne Warwick, Incognito, Spyro Gyra, Toots & The Maytals, Sly and Robbie, Roger Hodgson, Larry Graham, Jr Walker All Star Band, Matt Bianco, Martha Reeves, Zap Mama, Alpha Blondy, Ricardo Lemvo, Kenny Garrett, Richard Bona...
We also did the management for Aka Moon for whom we organized wonderful and unforgettable dates all over the globe, what a journey it has been since!
I am proud of what we have achieved and make no mistake, it's a though business, especially with the Covid destroying our business!. Hence we sincerely hope we can continue to book a lot of shows once the pandemic is over!
