Antonio Faraò is a pianist of uncommon skill. With a career that extends over 30 years, he has realized his potential and established himself as one of the most respected jazz pianists in the International scene.
Antonio Faraò has collaborated and/or performed live with a number of great jazz musicians: Joe Lovano, Jack Dejohnette, Bireli Lagrène, Al Jarreau, Wayne Shorter, Marcus Miller Franco Ambrosetti, Daniel Humair, Gary Bartz, Lee Konitz, Steve Grossman, Christian Mc Bride, Chico Freeman, Miroslav Vitous, John Abercrombie, Richard Galliano, Toots Thielemans, Dave Liebman, Didier Lockwood, Benny Golson, Johnny Griffin, George Garzone, Cecil Mc Bee…and with the famous Italian pop singer Mina.

"In our lifetime, there are only a small few instances where ones talent is so rife it copiously spreads across the entire creative landscape of that existing talent, touching any and everything possible in its phenomenal existence.

The name Antonio Farao emerges here as one who has vigorously, ambitiously, and significantly pursued jazz as one of its progenitors, moving it ahead in blinding incremental revelations. Being rife with talent and unusual ability, he has now exposed another genre of music as if by another unusually talented person. Make no mistake, genius can accomplish that phenomenon.

From jazz he has now touched the music of Hip-Hop/Funk. This is something that’s highly unusual for one to accomplish. An artist is usually planted in one style or the other, but not both. However, Antonio is able to embrace the two as if he has duel personalities. But it’s not personalities to be considered here, it’s superlative talent and superior ability. For a certainty, that makes him a rare phenomenon.

This new CD then, Eklektik , graphically reveals his ability to aggressively invade the realm of that which would never be expected by a superior, and well-established jazz artist. On this CD you will listen with rapt attention and disbelief as your ears absorb the sounds one after another. The music is unusual, of course, but the man is even more unusual. Welcome into the inner world of Antonio Farao." (BENNY GOLSON)
