Her name is Tasha's World (TW). She is conquering Europe, America, Asia and Africa along with her 10-piece band, delivering very exciting "Hip Soul" to her audiences. Her new album "Tasha's World" has been a top pick for radio stations, good DJs and fans accross the world since it was released in 2003.
Since then, Tasha's World has been performing at S.O.B.'s in New York City, at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague, at the Jazz Café in London, on city squares in Eritrea and many other places and venues. In Holland, her home country, her voice is being heard all over the airwaves. This applies to the U.K. and other countries as well.
The multilingual artist was born into a musical family. Her father was a bass player while little Tasha sang before she even learned to speak. Her exceptional voice has been trained by singing Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop. The musical influences of Tasha's World include legends such as Quincy Jones or Curtis Mayfield.
Amazingly Tasha's World has become world-famous over the course of only 2 years. At the official "Jill Scott after party" at Amsterdam's famous venue "Paradiso", TW sang while Jill Scott stood and watched with disbelief that this girl was actually Dutch and unsigned. Jill Scott sang along and shouted for more once TW was getting ready to leave the stage.
The press has praised Tasha's World and her release all along. A quote from "Music Week": "Confusingly, singer Tasha's World is based in Holland, had her album funded and largely produced from the U.K. by manager Patrick Jacobs, and received rave press reviews when it first here appeared on a limited Japanese import. Now given the full release treatment through Dome, this is quality soul that more than lives up to (unfair but inevitable) comparisons with the likes of Jill Scott".
Tasha's World also composes most of the tracks she performs. Her concerts have stunned more than a million people at festivals she performed at and many more in even more venues. The good news: She is now available for performances in Belgium and France.
